I’m gonna side with Grace

1. Matthew 6:14–15 (NIV)

“For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”


Straight up: Jesus connects our forgiveness from God directly to how we forgive others.


2. Matthew 18:32–35 (NIV)

“You wicked servant,” he said, “I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?”


In anger his master handed him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed. This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart.”


Hard truth: Grace is not something we just receive—it’s something we’re commanded to extend.


3. James 2:13 (NIV)

“Because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment.”


Reminder: If you want mercy, you have to give it. No grace for the graceless.


4. Galatians 6:1 (NIV)

“Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.”


Insight: Those walking in the Spirit restore people gently—not with condemnation or self-righteousness.



5. Romans 2:1–4 (NIV)

“You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself…”


“Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?”


Conviction: God leads with kindness, and He expects His people to do the same.

6. Colossians 3:12–13 (NIV)

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another…”


Call-up: This is what grace looks like on a believer—anything less is spiritual immaturity.


7. Luke 6:36–38 (NIV)

“Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.”


Kingdom principle: Grace is a seed—you reap what you sow
